News Update September 2021
Great to see Classy Countess break through for her first win for the Cranbourne Club 21 syndicate at Ballarat recently for trainer driver Scott Ewen. The filly bred by Yorkshire park and leased to the Cranbourne Club 21 syndicate managed by David Scott proved to strong to the line to beat a really nice group of fillies. Well done to all the owners in the syndicate.
Drain The Swamp continued on his winning ways with back to back wins at Ballarat and Bendigo in really good style. The colt by Somebeachsomewhere out of Vickymurphy certainly looks to have plenty of wins in store to come. The winner of 5 races and $52K in prizemoney has plenty of upside.
Interesting race at Hobart on Friday night (10th September) with two Yorkshire Park horse going head to head over the 2090 metre race. Syzate bred by Yorkshire Park has drawn barrier 6 while Dreams Are bettor owned by Yorkshire park has drawn the outside barrier 7. Maybe a dead heat would be a great result!
Sad to hear during the week that Jilliby Babavska bred by Yorkshire Park has been retired after an exciting but somewhat challenging racing career. Trained by Paddy Lee the Sundon gelding struggled with injury in recent years but finished off with an imposing record of 12 wins and 5 placings from 28 starts and almost $92K in prizemoney. Runner up in the Group 1 2YO Breeders Crown Final coming from last and being beaten a neck was a notable performance along with his Group 3 win in the Lenin Trotters Free For All. Not always displaying his best manners he had an explosive sprint that was at times devastating. A big congratulations to Paddy Lee for his time, patience and decision to retire the horse at the right time.
Jets Art & Nevs Dream have both gone to the paddock for a short let up while Miki Diva will still be in the spelling paddock for a couple of more months in New Zealand.
Almost time for our first foal this year as La Tonneralla is due to foal early October to Pastor Stephen. Really excited to see what she produces. Neishars Jet (Vincent) and Watch The Dream (Vincent) will also foal later in the season.
Last week we entered two colts in the Nutrien Equine Melbourne Standardbred sale in April 2022. An American Ideal out of Masterkova and a Sweet Lou out of Watch The Dream. I think we have the only Sweet Lou with no white markings on him.
That is about all for now.
Good luck and good punting.
Yorkshire Park team.
