News Update November 2024

What an exciting time of the year with breeding season well underway and a number of our Yorkshire Park bred or owned horses greeting the judge over the last month or so.

On the racing side it was great to see our part owned filly Alifetimeforliving winning at Bendigo in October in front of a very happy group of owners.  She has been terrific in her racing to date, and trainer Kerryn Mannning has been delighted with the way she has performed on the racetrack.  Alice will now head to the paddock for a well-earned break and return early in the new year to be set for the Nutrien Sales Classic race in April 2025. Fantastic also to see King Tintin greet the judge again at Menangle making it win number eight and almost $80,000 in prize money. Another great result for Yorkshire Park was the performance of I Draintheswamp in the United States with two victories at Yonkers during October & November.  That made it win number four in the USA and fifteen wins in total for the son of Somebeachsomewhere with a fastest winning time of 1.50.8 and almost $200,000 in prizemoney. That Maj Ya Look has been around the mark recently and we look forward to seeing her salute the judge in the very near future.

A number of our racehorses are due to return from time in the paddock with Our Miki Diva and Nevs Dream due to return shortly. Our part owned two-year-olds who have both qualified recently will hopefully make their racetrack debuts in Luna Diva & We Dealin Diamonds in the near future.

We also have a part owned rising two-year-old colt by Downbytheseaside out of Swingingwithsierra coming along nicely along with a rising yearling filly Downbytheseaside out of Fancy Dress based in NZ due to go to the breakers after Xmas.

On the breeding scene as always, it is an exciting time with mares foaling but at times it is also tinged with some sadness when you lose a foal as was the case with our mare Masterkova who unfortunately lost her colt by Captain Crunch.

On the bright side we have had four foals to date all arriving well with one more to go in December when Magical is due to foal to King of the North.

Mares foaled to date:

Our Narissa Franco foaled a filly by Poster Boy.

Sixty Plus foaled a colt by Pastor Stephen.

Carrera Mystic foaled a colt by Pebble Beach.

She Will Rock foaled a filly by Vincent.

Thats about all for now and hopefully some positive news on mares who are getting in foal this year in our next update.

Good luck and good punting.

Yorkshire Park Team.
