News Update May 2024

May produced a further two winners for Yorkshire Park bred horses with Birkirkara making it three in a row with a comprehensive 16 metre win at Albion Park in a very slick 1.53.1.  The Sweet Lou colt looks to have a lot of potential and has been very impressive in the care of Jack Butler.  An old favourite of ours Go Home Jo saluted again at Narrogin in WA with a come from behind 7.6 metre win in 1.59.0 making it win number seven and total stakes of just over $73,000.  By Roll With Joe the mare was one of the original horses sold by Yorkshire Park.  Nevs Dream, Classy Countess and Our Miki Diva continue to perform well.

One of our favourites Jets Art has been retired following the diagnosis of a leaking valve in the heart which explains the slightly below par performances of recent times.  Jets Art raced 58 times for 5 wins and twenty-six placings, a best time of 1.57.4 and just under $54,000 in prizemoney.  The big fella has been a fantastic horse to the syndicate who raced him, and it was a pleasure to be part of it.  Enjoy your retirement big fella.

Brightly Blaze has headed to the breakers and by all reports is doing well.  The filly by Vincent is a lovely type and is a half to multiple winners in Crazy Shippo, Telemachus & King Tintin. Good reports to date for our part owned 2 YO filly by Vincent out of Nieshars Jet and it won’t be far away before we see her at the trials.  Speaking of the trials, Yorkshire Park have a small interest in a 2YO filly by Soho Tribecca out of Oneminutetodream who qualified at Stawell last week under the care of Kerryn Manning.  Keep an eye out for her over the next week or so.

A new addition to the Yorkshire Park team is a weanling filly by Downbytheseaside out of Fancy Girl purchased at the NZB standardbred weanling sales in Auckland.  The filly will stay in New Zealand for the time being under the care of Kimberley Blackmore at Pukekohe.

Our mares continue to do well as we enter the winter months the feeding program steps up.  Our weanlings are all doing well, and we look forward to seeing them at the sales next year.

Thats about all for now.

Good luck and good punting.

Yorkshire Park Team.
