It has been a pretty quiet time on the winners scene for Yorkshire Park with a bunch of placings but unable to get one across the line. Our Miki Diva continues to be there abouts as has Nevs Dream who is starting to show some of her ability at the racetrack. Good to have Jets Art back in work, Classy Countess and Dreams are Bettor have been disappointing in Tasmania recently. Hopefully we can snag a couple of winners over the next few weeks.
On the sales scene I am pleased to say we picked up a lovely filly by Downbytheseaside out of Rocknroll Pearl in the Sydney Nutrien sale last Sunday. Lot 190 in the catalogue the filly is out of Rocknroll Pearl (by RocknRoll Heaven) who had a race record of 10 wins and $92,000 in prizemoney with her best winning time being 1.51.7. She was placed 3rd in the Group 1 NSW Breeders Challenge for 4YO’s and won the heat and final of the Group 3 Go Girlfriend Race Series at Menangle. The filly is already at the breakers, and we are looking forward to her progress over the coming months.
Speaking of yearling sales, we are only 3 weeks away from the Melbourne Nutrien sales at Oaklands Junction commencing April 1 – 3 and Yorkshire Park will be represented by two colts, a pacing colt by Vincent Lot 483 and a trotting colt by Pastor Stephen lot 521. really looking forward to seeing how they go through the sales.
The breeding scene is now over, and I’m pleased to say we had 5 out of our 7 mares get in foal with only La Tonneralla & Sixty Plus missing out. All the mares are doing well, and we look forward to their progression.
