News Update: March 2021.
A little bit late with the March update this time round but we have had plenty going on in particular the upcoming Nutrien Standardbred Yearling sale on the 10 & 11 April at the William Inglis Complex.
Lets start with the sales and I’m pleased to say Yorkshire Park will be presenting 5 lots, 3 colts and 2 fillies. Last week Rhiannon Park and Campbells comments hosted a live yearling presentation which I had the pleasure of providing insights and comments on our draft along with Brett Coffey from Alabar Bloodstock and Steven Walker who has 2 lots in the sale. I was really pleased with the way the yearlings have been turned out and thank Blanche & Dean Poole for the work they have put into all the yearlings. I have posted photos of our yearlings on twitter account @yorkshirepark or Campbells Comments still has the yearling presentation on their web site.
Lot 15 Yankee Rockstar / Ima Ritzi Lombo filly (the only Yankee Rockstar in the sale).
Lot 42 Used to Me / La Tonneralla colt (Dam is a half to two NZ Derby winners and this colt is a half brother to Jilliby Babavska.
Lot 109 TinTin in America / Our Narissa Franco colt (closely related to the very good horse Franco Nelson).
Lot 182 Sunshine Beach / Vickymurphy colt (three quarter to the Youthful Stakes winner Drain The Swamp and half to the very speedy Masterkova 1.55.7).
Lot 185 Art Major / Watch The Dream filly (one of NZ best families and bred on the same cross as Our Princess Tiffany – a real fillies family with plenty of depth).
Contact Yorkshire Park for any further information about the yearlings. Inspection at Rhiannon Park prior to the sales or come and find us in Barn D at the William Inglis Complex.
On the racing scene Glenavril King saluted again at Melton to take his win number to 11 and $85k in prize money. He has been a real bonus for his owners who purchased him at the APG Yearling sales for $18K.
Nevs Dream ( Sportswriter – Watch The Dream) 2 YO filly qualified at the Shepparton trials last week and will be looking to go around again this week at the trials again. The Yorkshire Park bred and part owned filly looked very good and will no doubt take a lot out of the trial. Miki Diva is close to the work outs in NZ, while Jets Art will be at the trials again shortly. She Will Rock continue to be very consistent but can’t quite get a good draw at Melton, a win is just around the corner for her.
We are close to the yearling sales now and the excitement builds. Lets hope that we get good results and our babies go on to be winning race horses.
Stay safe.
Yorkshire Park team.
