It’s great to be back online with our new and improved Yorkshire Park web site which has been under review for the last three months. A big thank you to Lauren at Tough Cookie Marketing for the work that has gone into the site and the patience she has shown with the many changes we had along the way.
So, there is a lot to update but let’s start with the racing scene.
Drain The Swamp who has won over $120k in prizemoney and one of Yorkshire Park’s favorites has been sold to the USA from the Mick Stanley Stable. We wish the new owners all the very best with him and we look forward to his racetrack debut in the USA most likely at Yonkers in the coming month or so.
Fantastic to see King Tintin sold by Yorkshire Park at the 2021 Nutrien Yearling sales make it 2-year-old win number four recently in a heat of the Breeders Challenge Eastern division at Penrith last week and he will contest the Group 3 $30,000 Final at Newcastle this Friday night (9/12) to be driven by Amy Day. La Volonte (by Used To Me) will make his racetrack debut (8/12) at Maryborough, Kialla Kid (by Sunshine Beach) two starts to date, Dreams of Art (by Art Major) has trialled and Alecia (by Yankee Rockstar) were all sold out of the Nutrien sale that year.
Winners bred or owned by Yorkshire Park since our last update have been Glenavril King, Maestro, Azterian, Hancocks Hero, Good Word That, Rocking Bugatti and Nevs Dream. Up until today we had reached 25 winners for the 2022 season. The good news is that our NZ filly Our Miki Diva is also in training and on her way back to the racetrack under the care of John & Maree Caldow.
Classy Countess has found her way to the Adrian Duggan stable in Hobart to join our other owned filly Dreams Are Bettor.
On the breeding scene we have had two fillies this year by Rock N Roll Heaven (Neishars Jet) and Vincent (Our Narissa Franco). Sadly, we did lose a colt by Captain Treacherous out of Masterkova who unfortunately died when foaling.
The 2023 Nutrien yearling sales will see Yorkshire Park be represented by two colts, Vincent out of Watch the Dream and a trotting colt by Pastor Stephen out of La Tonneralla. Stay tuned for more details for the sales commencing 1 April in Melbourne.
One of the sad things to happen was the retirement of both Magical and She Will Rock due to injury. Both mares were bred and sold by Yorkshire Park but Magical has returned after we decided we should purchase her back for breeding. She Will Rock is part owned by Yorkshire Park.
Mares this year due to get in foal are:
She Will Rock to Ride High
La Tonneralla to Speeding Spur.
Magical to Zenith Stride.
Masterkova to Sweet Lou.
Watch The Dream to Always Be Miki.
Our Narissa Franco to Poster Boy.
Sixty Plus to Pastor Stephen.
A lot has been happening over the last three months but we look forward to bringing you monthly updates on our racing team and breeding activities.
To close of I would like to dedicate this web site to my uncle Allan Lyon who passed away recently after an illness. Al would always pester me to update the web site so he could keep track of what was going on with the horses and sadly we didn’t get to finish the new site before his passing. This one is for you Al.
Don’t forget you can contact us on twitter @yorkshirepark19 or face book at Yorkshire Park or via email dennis@yorkshirepark.com.au. We will be putting together a new syndicate in the new year so if you are interested just make contact and we can discuss further.
That is about all for now. Good luck and good punting.
Yorkshire Park team.
