News Update December 2019

Yorkshire Park welcomed a filly out of Watch The Dream by Art Major last week to add to our foals over the last month.  La Tonneralla had a colt by Used To Me, Our Narissa Franco had a colt by Tintin In America and Ima Ritzi Lombo had a filly by Yankee Rockstar.  This only leaves Vickymurphy to foal later in December to Sunshine Beach.

On the racing scene Yorkshire Park bred horses delivered six wins for the month of November with She Will Rock 2 wins, Jilliby Babavska, Hancocks Hero, Glenavril King & Go Home Jo all saluting.  She Will Rock bred and part owned by Yorkshire Park unfortunately suffered an injury following her last win at Bendigo and will have minor surgery to remove bone chips from her knee this week.  The filly had chalked up an impressive record with three wins and two seconds from her six starts to date.  She will be sidelined for three to six months.

Our two year old filly Dreams are Bettor is in work at the John Caldow stables and continues to progress well while Alta Mach part owned by Yorkshire Park in the Ryan Hryhorec stables has had two starts this prep for two sixths.  We expect improvement from the Mach Three mare in the coming weeks.  Lutetia Midfrew has also returned to work under the care of Adrian Duggan in Hobart and we look forward to seeing the Sportswriter 4 year old back at the track soon.

This year Yorkshire Park will present two fillies at the Australian pacing Gold Yearling sales in Melbourne on the 2nd February 2020.  The first is a Well Said filly out of Vickymurphy (Bettors Delight mare) a half sister to the recently retired mare Masterkova 3 wins & six placings from eleven starts with her best winning mile rate being 1.55.7 when she defeated Soho Burning Love at her first race start.  This filly is out of the very good performing Vicky Hanover family which left prolific winners in Same Old Macray, Dee En Ay Macray, Bomber Macray and Usanz. The second is a Sportswriter filly out of the very well bred mare Watch The Dream (Bettors Delight mare) who won on four occasions as a three year old.  She is out of the very good producing NZ mare Dreamy Atom NZ 2 Year old of the Year and has left 7 winners including Western Dream 14 wins $334,987 prize money, Dream Royale 22 wins $145,068, Tisa Dream 18 wins $160,596.  This is a terrific family and we look forward to presenting her at the 2020 APG sales.

Yorkshire Park will also be syndicating a filly by Western Terror out of Jewel Bromac who unfortunately died while foaling this filly.  Stay tuned as we will update you on this syndication in the coming months.

Good news out of Cranbourne Club 21 Syndicate who advised that our Village Jolt two year old leased to the syndicate has progressed really well and has just gone to the paddock for a short let up.  Trainer Scott Ewan is very pleased with her progression and expects her to be an early race track two year old.

That’s about all for now.
