News Update April 2022
The 2022 Nutrien Standardbred Yearling sales has now been and gone and I’m pleased to say both the Yorkshire Park bred colts have been sold and now take the next step in their careers. Our Lot 112 Sweet Lou out of Watch The Dream colt will head to the stables of Ted Caruana and Lot 193 our American Ideal out of Masterkova colt will head to the Tyson Linke stables in South Australia. Pleasingly our Sweet Lou colt won the best presented pacing colt in the sale something that we are very proud off and thankful for the work that Dean & Blanche Poole from Rhiannon Park had put into both our colts for the sales.
Classy Countess returned from a spell with a gutsy win at Cranbourne last Sunday much to the delight of the Cranbourne Club 21 syndicate members. Bred by Yorkshire Park the 4 year old mare made it win number two. Classy Countess is leased to the Cranbourne Club 21 syndicate and is in the care of Scot Ewen. Drain The Swamp also made a winning return from a spell with a convincing win at Stawell in late March. The highly talented pacer will have a few better races on his raider in the next couple of months.
Good to see Threehundredcash qualify at the trials recently under the guidance of Graham Lyon. Bred by Yorkshire Park by Well Said out of Vickymurphy the 3 year old filly is a half sister to Drain The Swamp and is expected to make her racetrack debut in the next week or so. Across the ditch in New Zealand our 3 Year old filly Miki Diva has qualified at the trials on Saturday and she will head to the trials again in the next week.
Dreams Are Bettor will head to the races next Sunday before a decision is made on her racing future.
That is about all for now.
Good luck and good punting.
Yorkshire Park team.
