On the racing scene Watch The Dream will go to the paddock for a well deserved spell after finishing a close second recently at Newcastle. Dreamy has done a terrific job since arriving from New Zealand putting together three wins and a second plus two fourths in the Chokin 3 Y O series in both the heat and final of the Group 2 event. Dreamy also put in a terrific effort in a heat of the NSW Oaks finishing sixth beaten nine metres coming from last position on the turn. All up we are very pleased with her performances and happy that she can add a 1.56.6 winning mile rate to her record.
Whitney H is progressing well in New Zealand under the guidance of John Hay and we hope she will be at the trials in the next two to three weeks. Also in New Zealand our latest purchase from the yearling sales in “I Can Dream” has been broken in and about to head to the paddock for a month or so. John was very pleased with the way she handled the process and we are looking forward to her progression.
Cavalier Christian has had a little setback on his return to the racetrack injuring a knee which is a bit disappointing being so close to trialling. At this stage it doesn’t look to be any concern but the delay does make it quite frustrating for the Ponder 3YO.
Great to have our two fillies that we retained from the Melbourne sale home after being broken in. The Art Major out of Lombo Socialite was well looked after by Mark Watson at Kyabram and broke in a treat. She will head to the Melton stables of John & Maree Caldow in the next fortnight or so. The Roll With Joe out of Ima Ritzi Lombo also broken in at Kyabram will head back to the Graham Lyon stable after a six week break. Last week we sent our Major In Art filly out of Back Cover Lover to Paul Campbell to be broken in and we look forward to her progress. And finally some good news on the For A Reason filly we had entered for the Sydney sale but had to withdraw due to a back injury. She has been under the care of our vets and muscle specialists and the diagnosis is way better than we thought. The injury to her back is not as bad as first thought and time in the paddock ( 6 months) looks to be the best medicine for the filly.
In the next couple of weeks it will be time to start weaning last seasons foals with the Falcon Seelster and Auckland Reactor fillies first cab of the rank. The have grown and developed really well and we look forward to the next stage in their journey.
That’s about it for the moment so looking forward to bringing you more updates during the month.
Good luck and good punting.
